An infected computer can spread a virus to a clean USB thumb drive that is inserted. Then what the virus does next is to spreading the virus onto other computers if the operating system on those machines has an AutoRun-type feature enabled using autorun.inf method. It’s truely annoying us as we really got those viruses infected our computers. If you are an expert, maybe you can just take one look to see whether the drive contains virus or not. But sometimes no matter how expert are you, you’ll be less careful and get these virus infected your computers. 

So now Im going to share some software that useful to prevent those virus with you all.
There are various tools that prevent usb antivirus, such like autorun.inf Check , you have to scan for the virus manually.. that’s totally useless.. because you are already get infected when you plug-in a removable device contains viruses. So Im here to share those real-time protection enabled programs with you all.

1. iKill

iKill is a freeware. It prevents Virus spreading through removable drives. It works by scanning the drives for the presence of removable drives. If found, it parses the autorun.inf file for the executables it may run. If AutoProtect is enabled,it will automatically delete the files present on the drive. Otherwise, it will prompt you for your permission to delete the virus.

One of the reason I don’t like iKill is because iKill is real-time running and scan the physical drives, not only removable drives. No like others, just start scanning when removable drive is inserted.
If your desktop came with a floopy disk drive, you can hear that your floopy disk drive keep seeking a diskette every three seconds repeatly.. until you disable it.

2. USB firewall

USB FireWall blocks viruses and other wilful programs which try to spread in your system when an USB device is inserted. The application runs in background task and alerts you immediately in case of try of intrusion. You can stop the program and delete the file associate with. USB FireWall doesn’t need any virus definition update. USB FireWall can too clean your hard disk partition from auto started program.

USB FireWall is an application which protects you from all malicious programs which try to launch itself as soon as an USB device is inserted. It will inform you if ever a such program exists in your USB peripherals. You can remove the malicious file and the file autorun.inf associated with just one click.

3. Mx One Antivirus

Mx One Antivirus is a basic anti-virus tool that can be installed either on your computer or right on your USB stick, or portable multimedia device. If you choose the first option, Mx One Antivirus will protect your system from infected USB devices, and if you choose the second one the program will be installed on the USB device itself, thus enabling you to have an anti-virus solution with you at all times.

Mx One Antivirus lets you scan any drive or folder on your system – or on the USB drive as well. Whenever it detects an infected file, you can choose to either delete it or send it to quarantine.

Despite being quite a basic anti-virus tool, Mx One Antivirus is a handy security tool you can carry with you at all times in your USB device.

4. USB Drive Antivirus - shareware

Yea..Finally, this is one of my favourite tools that Im using now.
USB Drive Antivirus provides 100% antivirus protection against any viruses trying to attack via removable media.When an USB device is inserted into your computer, it will automatically scan it, block and delete usb virus and trojans. Another thing I like USB Drive Antivirus is because there are a tools box inside the application that fix damaged windows components those virus made. Usually a autorun virus will cause taskmanager, regedit, safe mode malfunctioning. It is because the author of the virus set all the things to makes you unable to delete the virus files, even unable to track the virus location without a third-part application. So “Fix System” tools inside USB Drive Antivirus really does a great job on it.

Unfortunately, USB Drive Antivirus is a shareware. Without the full version,  you still can using the real-time protection service but once when it detect threads, you will be prompt to purchase the full version to perform deletion process. But you still can access your virus-infected drive by using the  ” Open drive safety ” in the limited version of  USB Drive Antivirus.
